- Prior to Admission: It is always recommended to schedule a tour of Mt Vernon Nursing and Rehab Center and meet the Admission Team prior to admission. When that is not possible, the Admission Team will make every effort to contact the patient or family member in order to answer any questions and to discuss the admission process.
- Day of Admission: The patient, family member or responsible party should be prepared to spend time with the Mt Vernon Nursing and Rehab Center Admission Team to complete the required paperwork. If the patient has any legal documents such as a Living Will, Advance Directive, and/or Power of Attorney, the Admission Team will need to obtain copies of each as well as copies of the patient’s insurance cards.
- What to Bring: It is recommended to bring a week’s worth of comfortable clothing along with any toiletries the patient will need during their stay. We encourage families to make the patient’s room as comfortable as possible by bringing personal items such as photographs, plants, a favorite pillow or blanket, and any other small items.
