Meet Our Staff

Betty Solomonson - Administrator

A North Caroline native, Betty has been with MVNRC for 21 years. She is past Chairman of the Virginia Health Care Association, is a preceptor of the Virginia Administrator in Training Program, and has been appointed to the Virginia Board of Nursing Home Administrators. In 1991, she was named Nursing Home Administrator of the Year by the Virginia Health Care Association. Her husband Carl is a retired Marine officer; they have two grown children and one granddaughter.

Dorothy Bainter - Director of Nursing Services

After growing up in Salem, VA, Dorothy received her nursing training at Virginia Intermont College. She has been with MVNRC for 20 years. In 1999, she was named Director of Nursing of the Year by the Virginia Health Care Association. When not visiting with her three daughters and four grandchildren, Dorothy enjoys gardening in her spare time.

Janice Crosby - Assistant Director of Nursing Services

Janice received her nursing training at NOVA and has been with MVNRC 13 years. Janice's husband is a retired Naval officer and she has two married sons.

Margo Harris - Director of Admissions

Margo was born at Georgetown Hospital in Washington DC and grew up in Fairfax County, Virginia. She has a varied background in the psychiatric and social work field. She has worked with children, adolescents and young adults. Recently she became interested in the geriatric and health care field. She has worked as a hospital social worker, and that experience has confirmed her love of working with and for our older population. She enjoys working in her yard, playing video games and early morning walks with her husband and two large dogs Sophie and Skylar.

Cynthia Lattisaw - Director of Activities

Cynthia grew up in Largo, MD, and joined the MVNRC Team seven years ago. She and her husband have been married for 27 years and have two beautiful daughters, Lakisha and Angel. She is the proud grandmother of two grandsons, Raynard and Rayvon, who volunteer at MVNRC often and love to spend time with our residents. Planning events and activities for the residents at MVNRC gives her great joy!

Lendy Bethel - Director of Social Services

Lendy is a native of Charleston, WV, and is married to a retired Army officer. Of their many Army postings, their favorite was Fairbanks, Alaska. The Bethels have one daughter and a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Winston. Lendy is a devoted shopper.

Marcia Saffell - Senior Accountant

Marcia has been with MVNRC 12 years. Now that her children are grown, her best friend is 'Darling,' her stately standard poodle, who is a favorite visitor at the nursing center.

Michael Camp - Evening Nursing Supervisor

Michael joined the MVNRC team 16 years ago when he took a job in the laundry. He soon took his Certified Nurse Aide training and became a nursing assistant. He then took advantage of the MVNRC scholarship program and received his LPN training at Alexandria Hospital.

Gloria Valencia - Consultant Dietician

Born in the Philippines, Gloria completed her dietetic training at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She has over 15 years of long-term care dietetics experience and has been with MVNRC for 9 years. She is married, has two lovely daughters and is a tennis enthusiast.
