24 Hour Licensed Nursing Care:
Licensed and registered nurses are on duty around the clock.
Rehabilitation Therapies:
A wide variety of therapies is offered by registered therapists including:
- Physical
- Occupational
- Speech
- Respiratory
- Oxygen
- Tracheostomy Care
- Nebuzilation
- Pulse Oximetry
- Infusion:
- Antibiotic Therapy
- Pain Management
- Hydration Therapy
- Chemotherapy
- PICC Insertion
Pharmacy Services:
Physician-ordered prescriptions are filled around the clock in unit doses. Unit dose medications are charged only when taken by the resident.
Nutrition Therapy:
Physicians frequently order diets individualized by nutrient and calorie content and/or texture. Special diets are prepared under the supervision of a Registered Dietician.
Therapeutic Recreation:
Under the direction of a Certified Activities Specialist, a wide variety of activities is available to complement the Plan of Care and the therapeutic needs of each individual resident. In addition to the professional staff, a dedicated corps of volunteers is coordinated to interact with residents in large and small groups and one-on-one settings to enhance all facets of life in the Mount Vernon Nursing & Rehabilitation Center community.
Social Services:
Our professional social worker provides:
- Resident and Family Counseling
- Crisis Intervention
- Comprehensive Discharge Planning (Many of our residents are able to return home after recuperative care. Our social worker works closely with these residents and families to arrange support services for continued recovery.)
Short-Term Respite Care:
We offer care for frail family members whose primary care giver is temporarily unable to provide care. Families often use this resource when planning vacations or when unexpected emergencies arise. A minimum stay of one week is suggested.
